A visit to the Lackawanna Coal Mine tour at McDade Park in Scranton, PA on May 17th, 2008. The tour was the first of three mine tours taken that day through the Underground Miners and Chris Murley. Thanks to Chris and his cohort Banks Ries!! All footage, Copyright 2008. Email: snapabraham@sbcglobal.net
the coal region is awesome. I ride dirt bike on the old waste piles at trevoton pa. I also do do alot of trail riding you’ll see some old torn down building, old rail cars, old quarrys holes that are filled with water, a few old mineshafts and vent shafts that aren’t sealed off. Went down the one mine shaft and you can either go left or right at the bottom. We didn’t have a bright enough flashlight for that though. Its awesome seeing all the old history up there .
Thanks so much for posting this. My son has been learning about coal mines, and it was very educational.
i live a few miles from here and its sweet. i recommend going here!
