imma miner ,…….we still work that industry,…….even though the obama administration is trying to kill it
an ode to the miners of a industry now long gone
They play this song on endless loop at Chicago Midway Airport near baggage claim. One time I had to sleep there overnight for a 6 am flight. I heard this song on endless loop for about 6 hours. Because of this, I want to kill Lee Dorsey even though he’s already dead.
Devo redid this song for the movie Heavy Metal it was awsome. So is this song.
@garyd888 Not by the life expectancies of the 1920s
Different time and age, my friend.
@GuzziHeroV50 I think the vast majority of people would consider 61 to be “quite young”
@garyd888
@garyd888 Underrated yes. Young… 61? Hardly!
great song
Not me, just Working. But I probably will since I still watch the reruns of Fresh Prince.
Yes, I dedicate this to me and everyone who has to punch that clock daily.

this guy had one hell of a sound. loved his sound. rip lee.
THE All-Time working-man(&woman) anthem!!For those of us who still have jobs,and actually work a full day,this still sez it all,even 40 years after it first came out.Lee Dorsey is one of the unsung heroes of 60’s R&B.I’ll never get tired of this track!!!
A great classic song! Thanks!
Great version of this song! I knew the Ink Spots cover but this track is even better. To my shame, I’ve never even heard of Lee Dorsey. Well, I am going to remedy that now. He’s excellent !
