Makeup Tricks That Erase Years!

With the New Year upon us, I have had many customers email with questions on how to look younger!  So I thought I would write this guide to give you some ideas!  Besides exercise (yes exercise!), there are three Over-40 essentials that will make you look brighter, prettier and fresher in minutes! 

If you need to wake up tired skin, hide wrinkles, and make your whole face look more youthful, then I recommend a Concealer, Hydrating Foundation, and a Rosy Lip Color!  That’s it!!!  I mean by now we’ve learned many things about applying lipstick, eyeliner, and blush.  But as we get older, our makeup must evolve too!  Old favorites may not refresh as they used too—and can even make you look older.

1st Concealer…I love it because it lets you fake a great nights sleep!  As we age, our skin loses elasticity and thins.  This makes you look tired.  Concealer can lighten dark circles, give you a well rested look, and provides an overall glow!  We recommend our Yellow Mineral Corrector, or our No Baggage Concealer Wand.  Both are favorites among our customers at Southern Magnolia Minerals.

2nd Hydrating Foundation…I love it because is is sorta like support hose for your face!  Foundation is key because it deals with several age-related issues…fine lines, sagging skin and sun spots.  Mineral foundation formulas actually moisturize, heal, soothe and smooth skin’s surface.  And to add an extra hydrating boost, you can mix your mineral foundation with your favorite moisturizer and apply! If you prefer a matte finish, I really suggest adding a Primer to smooth skin’s surface first.  Because a matte finish alone, may make wrinkles more pronounced. A Primer such as our Velvet Veil or Perfection Powder Primer will do the trick nicely!

3rd Rosy Lip Color…I love it becuase its youthful without looking like a young teen! Lips can lose color with age and become more prone to dryness.  I would suggest sheer lipsticks and glosses, such as our Pink Shimmer Lipstick or any of our All-Natural Glossi Glazes.  They will hydrate and add sheen, which helps lips look fuller.  Natural shades like rose and pinky beige, also mitigate the appearance of fine lines by reflecting light away.

Excerise may not be an easy resolution to keep this year, but looking younger is easy and affordable with Southern Magnolia Minerals!!  And when you look good, you feel good, which may encourage you to keep that resolution to exercise! Good Luck!!!
